Pioneer is bringing back the once-popular home theater in a box (HTiB) with a $499 bundle that gives you almost everything you need to set up a six-speaker Dolby Atmos/DTS:X surround sound system. The only thing the package doesn’t include is a Blu-ray player or other source component.
For $400 (Xbox 360 not included!), this space-saving system delivers 155 watts via four compact satellites, a center channel, and a subwoofer that neatly houses a Dolby Digital/DTS 5.1 receiver (leaving only a small display unit outside).
Pioneer today announced the availability of the VSX-933 7.2-channel AV receiver, a slightly less expensive close cousin to the Elite series VSX-LX103 introduced just a few weeks ago.
Hundreds of press announcements crossed our desks in the weeks leading up to, and during, CES 2018. One of the many products we didn’t have a chance to investigate in person was Pioneer’s PHA-M70 Personal Sound Amplifier, which is nick-named “Nani?” (Yes, the question mark is part of the unusual moniker…)
