Sennheisier Covers the Headphone Bases at CES 2024

German headphone specialist Sennheiser is making an impressive showing at CES 2024 with the announcement of three new models at prices ranging from $230 to $330.

The Accentum Plus over-ear headphones boast hybrid adaptive noise cancellation and a rated battery life of up to 50 hours with a 10-minute quick charge option that provides up to 5 hours of play time, making them ideal for cross-continent travel. And with earcup and headband padding that adapts to the listener’s head, they are designed for long-lasting comfort.

The earbuds support for aptX Adaptive Bluetooth 5.2 with sound that can be customized through the Sound Personalization mode in Sennheiser’s companion Smart Control App, which also includes a five-band equalizer with the ability to create and store custom presets for different listening scenarios.

Sound is delivered through a pair of proprietary 1.5-inch (37 mm) drivers and the headphones can be controlled using an intuitive touch panel or the app. An audio cable is included for times when wireless listening isn’t possible. Priced at $230, the Accentum Plus headphones fold flat into a carrying case and come in black or white. Shipment is slated for late February.

Sennheiser also previewed the newest addition to its flagship Momentum series — the Momentum True Wireless 4, featuring a dozen upgrades over its predecessor, including TrueResponse transducer technology, improved RF-reception, reshaped eartips to prevent wax buildup, a six-microphone array with enhanced voice pickup, and an upgraded adaptive noise-cancellation system designed to provide more consistent sound. Sennheiser’s Sound Personalization, Sound Zone, and Sound Check features are also available through the Smart Control App.

The latest sound technologies are also supported, including Bluetooth 5.4, Auracast, and Snapdragon Sound with aptX Lossless technology, aptX Adaptive, and Bluetooth LE Audio. The ’buds also have an ultra-low-latency mode for gaming.

Rated battery life is up to 7.5 hours plus an additional 22.5 hours using the charging case with an 8-minute quick charge option providing up to an hour play time. The Momentum True Wireless 4 earbuds will be available for pre-order in mid-February at a cost of $300. Color options are black copper, metallic silver, and graphite.

Aimed a serious athletes and sports enthusiasts, the new Momentum Sport earbuds supplement music enjoyment with biometric sensors that monitor heart rate and body temperature while delivering critical data to popular fitness devices and apps in real-time. The idea is to help avoid over exertion and heat fatigue, and data is stored so it can be used for post-training analysis.

The earbuds support aptX Adaptive Bluetooth 5.2 and feature clog-resistant eartips in addition to an “acoustic relief” design that uses air ventilation to mitigate the occlusion effect. The semi-open design also provides natural awareness of your surroundings, which is augmented by three operating modes: Transparency, Anti-Wind, and Adaptive Noise Cancelling.

Sound is produced by 0.4-inch (10 mm) drivers encased in a water/sweat-resistant housing, while the combination of three-axis accelerometers, capacitive touch sensors, and infrared sensors enable playback and call features to be managed with simple finger taps.

Rated battery life is up to 6 hours plus an additional 18 hours using the charging case with a 10-minute quick charge option providing up to 45 minutes of play time. The Momentum Sport earbuds will cost $330 when they become available in early April with a choice of black, olive, or metallic graphite finishes.
