The Alpha VS21 sound base is the first TV sound solution from PSB and therefore the first one to be tweaked by celebrity speaker designer Paul Barton. This 2.1-channel product is a three-way design with pairs of one-inch tweeters, two-inch midranges, and four-inch bottom-firing woofers, each of the six drivers separately amplified with 17 watts. Connectivity is legacy (no HDMI) and surround processing is Dolby Digital. Price $599, shipping this month.
