LG Dims Locally

LG announced a slew of new LCD displays. These include wireless models, some with ISFccc calibration memories, and a 1.7" deep, LGX Super Slim design. But the potential all-stars are in LGs 75 range, with ISFccc, 120 Hz operation, and a claimed 100,000:1 contrast ratio courtesy of local dimming from 128 LED backlights.

Plasma hasn't been left out, either. The two top of the line series, the PG70 and the PG60, each with 50" and 60" models, claim a contrast ratio of 30,000:1, a 100,000 hour panel, ISFccc memories, and the (claimed) first THX video certification in the industry (I believe that two Sharp THX models have already been marketed in Japan). The primary difference between the two lines is that the PG70's may be operated wirelessly if you add an LG external wireless transmitter.
