As much as I was impressed by HiFiMan’s HE-400i headphones and EF100 tube headphone combination (see my previous post), the company’s HE1000 prototype, open back cans blew me away.

No price was given, nor any shipping date, but they likely will be pricey and not available until late in the year or early 2016.

They were driven by HiFiMan’s EF1000 dual chassis headphone/power amp, which offers 8W of pure Class A from its headphone output and 50W of pure Class A from its speaker outputs (150W in Class A/B). No prices or delivery dates on the latter either, but the combination sounded spectacular.
