To date I haven’t been much of a headphone person, but I still recognize their importance and appeal in today’s market. Headphones, in short, are now a very big deal for many consumers, and therefore for many manufacturers. Everyone seems to be in the headphone business today, but HiFiMan’s HE-400i, driven by their EF100 tube headphone amp, sounded so good they just might just make me a headphone convert. $1000 for a pair of headphones and an amp (each available separately) is well above the average price most consumers will pay for headphones, but this combo sounded like it was worth every penny.
