Atlantic Shows Bar, Rejuvenates In-Walls

Atlantic's 3.1 HSB H-PAS soundbase may be making waves but the company is not neglecting the soundbar, conventional speaker, and in-wall categories.

CEDIA saw the debut of the FS300 passive three-channel soundbar ($650) with three 0.75-inch silk dome tweeters, six 3.5-inch midrange drivers, and vented motors for higher power handling. Drivers for each of the three channels sit in separate enclosures.

If you prefer your front-channel speakers separate, consider the LCR300 ($275/each), a dual-woofer design with the same driver array as the soundbar, interestingly enough. Place it vertically for left and right or horizontally for center.

Atlantic has also overhauled its in-walls starting with a switchable bipole/dipole speaker, the IW-155SR ($1400/pair), with dual one-inch tweeters placed within dual 5.25-inch woofers. Could this be your Atmos ceiling speaker? Also shown were the IW-105 LCR ($350/each), with 6.5-inch woofer and one-inch tweeter; and the IW-110 LCR ($500/each), with two of the same woofers. The latter two models also feature tweeter level controls.

Most of these products are shipping in the first quarter of 2016 except the IW-155SR, available next month.
