The company today announced two D-ILA laser projectors designed to input and display images at 8K60p and 4K120p resolutions.

Last week, JVC Americas announced that it has consolidated its projector operations&mdash;both JVC-branded projection systems and Hughes-JVC-branded systems&mdash;into <A HREF="http://www.jvc.com/pro">JVC Professional Products Company</A>, and will develop and market all future projection systems under the JVC brand. The company says that this consolidation will result in the creation of a new Visual Systems Division, effective next month. JVC says it hopes that the reorganized company will grow its projection-display business by more than 15% in the year 2000.

Last week <A HREF="http://www.jvc.com">JVC</A> announced that the final touches have been applied and the D'Ahlia 61" D-ILA hologram HDTV rear projection television (official model number AV-61S902) has begun shipping to several retailers nationwide and will soon be available to consumers at a manufacturer's suggested retail price of $13k.

JVC is making a somewhat tentative step into the Blu-ray world with the new NX-BD3 home theater system. The NX-BD3 is a 2.1 channel system. Why not jump in with a full 5.1 system to really show off the audio benefits of Blu-ray? Perhaps...
