Rega was approached by the legendary rock band Queen to produce a limited edition turntable to coincide with the September release of Queen: The Studio Collection, an 18-piece 180g vinyl LP box set from Virgin EMI Records, according to Sound Organisation, which distributes Rega and other European audio brands in the U.S.

Lions Gate Home Entertainment (LGHE), a division of Lions Gate Entertainment, announced last Wednesday that it will release content on the Blu-ray Disc format. As part of its cooperation with the Blu-ray Disc Association (BDA), LGHE will begin releasing new films, TV programming, and other titles from the company's vast library when Blu-ray hardware launches in North America.

Pity those poor manufacturers of portable audio and video devices whose names don't begin with an "A" and who don't make gadgets with a model numbers starting with a lower-case "i". HandHeld Entertainment, makers of one of those "not an iPod audio/video" portables, sees an avenue to fame and success in offering a handheld portable player that costs significantly less than an iPod from Apple. Prior to Apple's much ballyhooed introduction earlier this month, HandHeld Entertainment announced plans for the next generation of their digital video/audio/photo media players.

NASA plans to once again make space history on November 15th when it broadcasts the first live High Definition Television images from the International Space Station (ISS). Next week's live HDTV video feed will be produced in cooperation with the Japan Aerospace Exploration Agency, Discovery HD Theater, and Japanese broadcast network NHK.
