Apple has struck a deal with Hollywood to give iTunes the same release window as brick-and-mortar stores. The same day a movie hits Wal-Mart or Blockbuster on disc, it'll also appear in the iTunes store as a download.

Interactive TV (iTV) is about to become a reality, according to a new study released by <A HREF="http://www.StrategisGroup.com">The Strategis Group</A>. The study, "Interactive TV: Platforms, Content, and Services," projects that, by 2005, the majority of US households will be iTV-capable, and that active usage will reach over 41 million&mdash;a dramatic rise from the 1 million households using the service this year.

Toshiba will no longer develop and sell TVs in North America as part of a restructuring and will license the TV business to Taiwan’s Compal Electronics. According to a press release issued in Tokyo, Compal will begin delivering Toshiba brand TVs to the North American market in March.

Los Angeles-based Jam Audio has introduced a new line of inexpensive Bluetooth speakers and wireless headphones/earbuds aimed at young consumers as part of a rebranding campaign built around the “Just Add Music” tag line.

In June, FILMFEST HD, one of the VOOM HD Networks, will begin a month-long Bond-fest showing high-definition world premieres of 17 classic James Bond flicks. While the very thought of seeing so many Bond movies in High Definition ought to send orgasmic shivers of delight through the remote controls of any James Bond devotee, the news gets even better. The movies will be uncut and commercial-free. David Hasselhoff will serve as the on-air host.
