There are people who claim to read your future in your palm. Others reach conclusions about your income, taste, and character according to what type of shoes you're wearing. For my own part, I can look at your selection of loudspeakers and know exactly what kind of home theater person you are.

Entertainment in the car has come a long way since the first "fitted" AM radios of 1930. And even back then, a few killjoys wanted to ban in-dash radios for fear of distracting the driver. Thankfully, logic and the love of music prevailed - and with each evolution in mobile entertainment over the past 50 years, drivers and passengers have benefited.

The best TV ever? There have been rumblings ever since Pioneer's 50-inch Elite Kuro plasma set first came out that it might deserve that honor. And there was little to dissuade S&V's Rob Sabin, Al Griffin, and Michael Trei of that notion when they checked it out in a head-to-head comparison with Samsung's LED-backlit 52-inch LCD TV (which also won an Editors' Choice Award).
