We reviewed 13 products in December but only eight made the cut. Among them are three exemplary projectors ranging in price from $2,200 to $6,000, a fabulous sounding set of compact speakers with built-in power, excellent planar-magnetic headphones from a classic audio brand, a unique hi-res digital recording system that disciples of vinyl will love, and a separates-based 5.1-channel system that gives you everything you need except a source for just over two grand. As we ring in the New Year, any of these products would be a fine addition to your 2018 AV lineup.

Definitive Technology has taken a minimalist approach in the design of its new W Studio Micro soundbar/wireless streaming system, which squeezes seven drivers into an enclosure that’s 43 inches wide and only 1.75 inches tall.

June Event to Feature Performances by John Legend and Tristan Prettyman

Definitive Technology will host a fundraiser on June 12 at the Copley Symphony Hall in downtown San Diego to support Forte for Children, a charitable foundation dedicated to improving the quality of life for disadvantaged children through music education and therapy.

Definitive Technology today announced the addition of a compact soundbar system to its lineup. The Studio 3D Mini features Dolby Atmos and DTS:X processing, 4K/Dolby Vision video pass-through, and HDMI eARC connectivity. It’s also the first Def Tech product to feature HEOS Built-in, letting users stream audio from multiple services as well as link the soundbar wirelessly to a HEOS-enabled multiroom setup.
