THE VERDICT
Bowers & Wilkins’ Px8 S2 favor fidelity and comfort over brute‑force hush. They deliver deep, clean bass, lively dynamics, and an easy fit that makes me reach for them first. Not the strongest ANC, but as an everyday luxury over‑ear that works across Apple and Android, they’re the set I want to travel with.

I’ve been chasing portable hi‑fi since the paper‑route Walkman era. Many stops since then, but the Px8 S2 are the first wireless ANC cans that check every box I care about without adding bulk or friction. This is a lifestyle piece: slip them on, get real hi‑fi, and keep moving.

Focal has announced Mu-so Hekla, an all-in-one immersive home-cinema system with Dolby Atmos, new Sphere audio modes, and the latest Naim Pulse platform. The system launches today at the Focal Powered by Naim store in Seoul, rolls out first in South Korea and China, then globally in Q1 2026, with a North American retail target of March. It will appear at CES (January 6–9, 2026) and ISE (February 3–6, 2026).

THE VERDICT
Perhaps the best price/performance ratio subwoofer on the market today, the Hsu D15-Chimera and D15-SC represent an incredible amount of product for the asking price. The two piece system isn't small, but what it's capable of makes the size seem reasonable. In the immortal words of Nigel Tufnel from the movie Spinal Tap, "these go to eleven".

THE VERDICT
Arcam’s SA45 is a modern two‑channel integrated amplifier that replaces a rack of separates. It streams natively, corrects the room with Dirac Live, talks to your TV over eARC, and has the power to drive serious speakers. A couple of software hiccups aside, it made high-quality living‑room hi‑fi easy.

This integrated amplifier is the right answer when you want power, fidelity, and simplicity in the same box. The SA45 does streamer, DAC, preamp, and power amp duty without the old-school AVR-style menu gymnastics. I used it as a pure two-channel solution for music and movies, in a real living room. I streamed everything. No discs. My apologies to physical media fans, but at this point the quality of streaming is just plain good enough for my needs.
