Hulu Plus, long rumored and now launching, is a paid version of the popular streaming video site. While the free version of the site will continue to offer fresh TV episodes, the paid version will offer full seasons of current shows plus seasons of shows no longer aired. The cost will be $9.99/month.

Omnidirectional speakers are nothing new, though there are many variations. For example, Italian maker Bolzano Villetri has taken an interesting approach with its Campanile series, which includes floorstanders, a center-channel speaker, and a subwoofer to outfit a complete home theater.

I have been an avid reader and subscriber to <i>Home Theater</i> magazine over the years, when the new issue comes in I thoroughly enjoy reading it and always refer to past issues. My favorite part of the magazine is the home installs, reading about what other people put into their homes and to what lengths they go. Crazy stuff!

I have a 34-inch Sony KD-34XBR960 direct-view CRT HDTV, which works fine, but it's a beast. Are the current LCD/LED TVs equal in picture quality to the 960? Other than multiple HDMI inputs, weighing less, and consuming less electricity, are there any visual benefits to replacing the 960?

What would an average consumer find if he or she went to the local mega-chain store for a 3D demo? Our colleague Pete Putman made just such an expedition with disappointing results.
