A week after Capital Audiofest concluded, the event remains vivid in memory. Recognized as the premier audio show on the East Coast, it successfully maintained its informal yet upscale ambiance, focusing primarily on high-end, two-channel audio.

In this collection, you'll find an array of demonstration videos I captured during the event, including a couple of interviews.

Have you ever wondered why audiophile extravaganzas often feel like they're confined to your average Holiday Inn? Yes, we get it: the rooms, the isolation, but come on—doesn't high-fidelity deserve a high-class venue? Enter the UK Hi-Fi Show Live 2023, staged at the Ascot Racecourse Grandstand. It is where high-end audio got the royal treatment it's long yearned for.

There are few names as synonymous with turntables as Technics, a brand that has consistently pushed the boundaries of what's possible with vinyl playback. I recently had the opportunity to attend a presentation by Bill Voss, Business Development Manager at Technics, where he unveiled the latest addition to the Grand Class series—the SL-1200GR2 turntable.

CEDIA Expo 2023 offered an opportunity to peruse a plethora of audio and AV products aimed at the CI (custom install) market. Much of what's on display is excruciatingly expensive and targeted at wealthy consumers. Case in point, one of the most popular demos involved a home theater system with a million dollars worth of gear in it. At that price point, a $12,000 video player and $16,000 video processor seem like almost trivial expenses.
