I am sitting in a chair - mock-jock Howard Stern would call it a "stool" - in the rear of a new home theater. The chair is made of sturdy wood (perfect for Stern show lap dances), is cushioned in fine leather, and boasts Mediterranean-style carvings that would be a natural in my parents' living room. It does not swivel.

I hadn't intended to post a news story on <I>UAV</I> about today's termination of analog over-the-air television broadcasts. Virtually all of our readers probably get their broadcast content via cable, satellite, or online sources, so the transition doesn't affect them&#151;except possibly their kitchen TVs. Still, it's an historic day, so I decided that an obituary was in order.

As I write this, I'm sitting at Gate 7 in the JetBlue terminal at JFK International Airport, awaiting my flight home after attending the first-ever CEA Line Shows, held June 10 and 11 across the street from the Empire State Building in midtown Manhattan. I made the long trip to New York because I wanted to support the concept embodied by the event and encourage it to grow next year.
