Why are Mac users always the last to get picked on the playground? Even today, there are so many apps and devices that won't run on Macs. Oddly enough, this time, it's Microsoft who's picked Mac to join their team.Microsoft's...
Traditionally prices for TVs and other consumer electronics have plummeted starting on Black Friday, the day after Thanksgiving and the kickoff of the holiday shopping season. This year, an analyst has looked into his crystal ball and seen flat-panel HDTVs selling for a range of three-digit prices.
Here's a fun fact: Even though the United States is responsible for roughly 85% of box office profits worldwide, we only make 13% of the world's films. As such, it should come as no surprise that the US home video market is vastly different (and arguably quite inferior) to its worldwide counterparts. Don't believe me?
In case you didn't know, "Good Life. Great Price." is the slogan used to market Sears. Don't feel bad, it didn't ring a bell with me either. At least not like "Always Low Prices. Always."In any case, if you need a...
We were all dreading this day. We hoped it would never come. But, of course, now the dreaded day has arrived. The VHS VCR is no more. The butt of endless "flashing 12:00" jokes, and cruelly forced to play more than a few porno tapes, the...

It includes a Blu-ray drive, makes daring use of bamboo fiber speaker diaphragms, and employs wireless technology to deliver signals to those two lonely surround speakers in the back of the room. Moving backward to the second criterion, price, the system sells for $1,000, on the moderate to high side by HTIB standards. And what about the first criterion, performance? Sorry, but you’ll have to read the review. Throw me a bone here—this is how I earn my living.

Home Theater Out of the Box
Why would anyone buy a budget receiver and satellite/subwoofer speakers instead of a simpler home theater in a box system? To the uninitiated, the HTIB seems like a no-brainer. It spares the consumer the rigors of equipment matching and sometimes even throws in a disc drive.
