You can have any color...as long as it's black

I have a question for you all. In the April issue we had a Premiere Designs with a possible new look for some of HP’s RPTVs. A crappy picture of it is what you see here. According to HP, they’re not going to be making it, as their marketing department tells them that silver, black, and gray, are still the most likely colors to sell. So my question is this;

Would you buy a TV that wasn’t silver, black, or gray?

Ask your significant other. Would they be more interested in you buying a TV that was perhaps a more aesthetically pleasing color? Specifically, what do you all think of the creamy white look you see here?

CE gear goes in waves, for a few years it’s all silver, then it’s all black, then it goes back to silver. Rarely do you find gear available in other colors. Is this because no one buys other colors, or because it’s perceived that no one buys them. I’m thinking it’s the former, but I’m still curious. HP has done their market research and have decided, so really I’m just wondering for my own knowledge.

Black or silver to me are okay, I would really have to think about it before buying a tv of another color. The room decor would probably be the number one factor, but I would not rule out another color entirely.

My choice is black body.. I do not like seeing any silver while watching. How difficult will it be to make skins of TVs ? When cell phones can have skins why not TVS.. after all everyone might want to try a different look once a while :)
