As usual, the podcast was great! I just love listening to you and Tom talk about my favorite hobby. Quick question. You guys briefly talked about the subject but I was wondering what is the best way to calculate the proper distance that one should place the front left and right speaker apart from each other? I heard Tom say that if the distance isn't far enough the speakers will not have enough distance to open up so to speak and sound their best. I can't recall exactly how he worded it. The distance from my seat on my couch to my 50in plasma is 9ft. The distance to the center channel to my seat is about 8.5ft. The distance between my front left and right is 8.5ft apart, measured cone to cone. I have them placed on stands. What would be the optimal distance to place the left and right fronts apart. Thank you very much Scott and Tom!
