• Full 1,280-by-720 resolution, but for a 852-by-480 price

Performance: 86
• Bright, with a great contrast ratio
• Color points and scaling aren't great

Ergonomics: 93

Overall: 90
The first sub-$1K HD projector (by a dollar) will rightly steal plenty of sales away from its similarly priced 480p competitors. You'll need to mate it with a decent scaling DVD player, which isn't a lot to ask. Then, you'll get a bright projector with a decent black level and a great contrast ratio for less than a plasma or an LCD, plus a much bigger image.
