B&K delivers their new Ref 70 surround sound processor equipped with 6 HDMI inputs and 1 output. The processor does not boast inboard audio processing of the new HD Audio formats but the rep claims an update will be made available for free to owners in the near future.
Parasound showcased a new surround sound processor in their “Classic” line that is a slimmed down version of their new receiver. The HDP 70 features 5 HDMI inputs and 1 output, full Faroudja video processing and HD Audio decoding.
THX is getting into the sub business with their new B6X in-wall subwoofer solution developed with BG. The in-wall uses four modules that fit within a standard 2x4 wall space. This is the first in-wall subwoofer solution to achieve the Ultra2 certification from THX.
Parasound showcased their first audio/video receiver since 1982 with the HDR 77. The receiver features Faroudja video processing, 5 HDMI inputs and 1 output, full HD audio support and a room correction system by Cirrus.
The receiver boasts 140 watts per channel x 7 plus a second stereo zone with 35 watts per channel. The receiver will ship in January and retail somewhere under $3000.
D-Box is showing up everywhere now with home theater seating manufacturers integrating it more and more. D-Box was showing their new platform system at their booth, which allows you to integrate their motion experience into your existing seating without the expense of buying new chairs.
DVDO debuts their new Edge Video processor. Utilizing the same video processing as their flagship VP50Pro, the Edge handles the full compliment of HD and SD video processing with de-interlacing, scaling, and custom video settings. The Edge features 6 HDMI inputs and 2 HDMI outputs. The outputs are split for video and audio allowing you to run video directly to a display while sending the audio to your AVR or surround processor.
Meridian has raised the bar for elite video playback with their new 810 Reference Video Playback System. This projection system uses a JVC light engine and 4K D-ILA panels to deliver a staggering 10-mega-pixel HD image in the home.
Anthem gave the show a sneak peek at their updated Statement D2 processor. Dubbed the D2 v2, it features 8 HDMI inputs and 2 HDMI outputs. Guess an outboard switcher is a thing of the past! The new HDMI inputs are all 1.3c compliant for full 7-channel 192kHz support and deep color capabilities.
Paradigm showcased their gorgeous Signature Reference series loudspeakers (review coming soon!) and their newest entry, the Sub 25. This new 15” behemoth of a sub features a 3000 watt RMS digital amp and claims to have 5 db more output than their already spectacular Signature Servo. Custom finishes are available.
