Soundbar pioneer Zvox has announced that the super-slim SB400 and SB500 soundbars it previewed in January are now available at bestbuy.com, amazon.com, crutchfield.com, and zvox.com.

Designed to stand alone without a separate subwoofer, the 36-inch SB400 ($500) and 44-inch SB500 ($600) were nick-named “full metal jacket” for their extruded, brushed aluminum cabinets, which are just over 3 inches deep. At the heart of both models is a computer-controlled MegaBass woofer system built around 4-inch long-throw woofers said to deliver “clean, accurate bass down to 42Hz.”

Both soundbars also feature Zvox’s AccuVoice dialogue enhancement technology, which is used in advanced hearing aids to produce clear voice reproduction, PhaseCue virtual surround sound, Dolby Digital processing, Bluetooth/aptX streaming, and output leveling to equalize the volume of obnoxiously loud commercials.
