Vizio Kicks Off New E-Series with 75" and 80" Screens

Vizio today unveiled the new SmartCast E-Series of video displays featuring built-in Chromecast streaming, full-array LED backlighting in screen sizes from 32 to 80 inches, and high dynamic range (HDR) capability in models with screens 55 inches and larger.

Nine models in all, the updated series kicks off with the 75-inch E75-E3 ($2,000) and 80-inch E80-E3 ($3,400), which are available now with free shipping on vizio.com. The remaining models are slated to roll out “soon” to vizio.com, Best Buy, Costco, Walmart, and Sam's Club.

Vizio’s full-array LED backlighting has up to 16 active LED zones that dynamically adjust to images onscreen for black levels described as “much richer than edge-lit LED backlight displays can deliver.” The models with HDR capability support the industry standard HDR10 format.

With Chromecast built-in, viewers can tap the Cast button in popular Chromecast-enabled apps such as Netflix and YouTube to stream content to the big screen. Vizio’s SmartCast app also lets viewers control the display from any room in the home, search for content across multiple apps at once, and stream shows directly to the display through the Google Assistant on devices such as Google Home.

All models come with a new remote that allows users to do first-time setup without a phone or tablet. Once setup is complete, the remote continues to provide access to the on-screen menu, sidebar settings, and other features.
