Ultimate Ears Introduces Playful Waterproof Speaker

Ultimate Ears, the company known for making professional in-ear monitors worn by live performers, has introduced a playful take-anywhere Bluetooth speaker.

The Wonderboom ($100) floats, can be submerged in up to 3 feet of water for up to 30 minutes thanks to its IP-X7 rating, and boasts a 10-hour battery life, according to UE. It’s also built to withstand being dropped up to 5 feet.

Aimed at “music lovers who are connected, on-the-move, and want their music from the moment they wake up to the moment they go to sleep,” the mini speaker is said to project sound 360 degrees and is available gray, black, red, blue, pink, and lilac.

The top of the speaker has a loop so for attaching it to a backpack, bicycle, bag—you name it—and a button for playing, pausing, and skipping tracks.

“Don’t be fooled by its size or price; this little beauty is also a beast,” said Charlotte Johs, general manager of Ultimate Ears. “Wonderboom is a pint-sized, super-portable Bluetooth speaker with surprisingly big sound. And, just like the rest of the Ultimate Ears family, it’s also virtually indestructible.”

Wonderboom joins a family of portable wireless speakers that includes the Boom2 and Megaboom.
