Sony Expands Hi-Res Listening at Magnolia

Sony and Best Buy today announced that starting this week Sony Hi-Res Listening Stations are being rolled out to 250 Magnolia Home Theater locations around the country, joining the 82 Magnolia Design Centers that have had listening stations since late last year. The rollout is expected to be complete by September.

A variety of high-resolution recordings from Sony, Universal, and Warner are featured at each listening station, which is equipped with the latest high-resolution Sony Walkman and headphones from Sony (MDR-1A), Sennheiser (Momentum M2), Polk (Hinge wireless), and V-Moda (Crossfade wireless).

Music selections cover nearly every genre and include catalog titles and new releases—all with a display of album art. A track from Norah Jones’ upcoming album Day Breaks is even being previewed at the listening stations.

The listening station initiative debuted last fall at Best Buy’s flagship Magnolia Design Center in New York City and 81 other Design Center locations.
