Sonus faber Announces High-End Speaker Series

Italian speaker maker Sonus faber has announced the Homage Tradition collection featuring revamped versions of the company’s Amati and Guarneri speakers and the new Serafino, a scaled down version of the floorstanding Amati.

Distinguished by elegant design, which the company refers to as a “classic and slightly retro” approach featuring its signature lute shape, the new models boast a number of technical refinements and are available in a red walnut or a new wengè finish featuring maple inlays, both with leather, glass, and aluminum accents.

Those technical highlights include new drivers derived from the company’s Il Cremonese flagship model, new crossover designs featuring custom Mundorf oil capacitors, segmented drive chambers, a new Stealth Ultraflex port system with extruded aluminum guides to reduce turbulence and distortion, and “silent spikes” to reduce vibration transmission on the Amati and Serafino and monocoque carbon-fiber stands for the Guarneri Tradition.

The Guarneri Tradition is a 2-way stand-mounted speaker featuring a 6-inch mid-woofer and the same 1-inch silk-dome tweeter used in its higher priced siblings. Price is $15,900/pair including stands.

The Serafino Tradition is a 3.5-way tower standing 46 inches tall that adds two 6-inch woofers to the Guarneri layout. Price is $21,900/pair.

The flagship Amati Tradition, a 3.5-way tower standing 46 inches tall, has two 8.5-inch woofers, a 6-inch mid-woofer, and a 1-inch silk dome tweeter; it can handle 500 watts and is rated to play down to 28Hz. Price is $29,900/pair.

Delivery for all models is slated for March.
