Sling TV Now Available on LG Smart TVs

Sling TV today announced that its live and on-demand over-the-top (OTT) service is now available on most 2016 webOS 3.0-enabled LG smart TVs and is coming to webOS 3.5-enabled 2017 models later this year.

With LG in the mix, Sling TV is available on more than 15 platforms—including Android TV, Roku, Apple TV, Amazon Fire TV, Google Chromecast, and Xbox One—on devices ranging from smart TVs and tablets to game consoles, computers, smartphones, and streaming devices.

Prior to today’s announcement, Sling TV had been available only on Sharp Aquos and Sony Bravia TVs.

Current Sling TV subscribers can now log in to their accounts on compatible LG smart TVs and new customers can sign up for Sling TV directly from the app on LG smart TVs. The 30-channel Sling Orange package is $20 a month and the 45-channel Sling Blue package is $25 a month.

Sling TV can be added to a compatible LG TV by launching Sling TV in the LG “launcher” bar or by pressing Home, selecting “Go to LG Content Store,” and searching for “Sling.”

In a blog on sling.com, chief product officer Ben Weinberger wrote: “If you’re looking for an affordable way to watch live TV at home, Sling TV is expanding its service to LG Smart TVs so you can still cut the cord without losing the home-viewing experience.”

Sling TV on LG Smart TVs is a game changer. Excited to ditch the cable box and embrace the future of TV right from my LG screen.
