Rotel RSX-1065: "High Performance Alternative"

Simplify, simplify. It's some of the oldest and best advice. Rotel has taken it to heart with the RSX-1065, a multichannel receiver that can take the place of separate processors and amplifiers.

In multi-channel mode the RSX-1065 can put out 100 watts continuously in all five channels, with dynamic reserve sufficient for 200-watt peaks. Such impressive dynamics are attributable to the new receiver's oversized toroidal transformer and huge DC power supply. Deep bass is no problem for the 1065: its frequency response is rated at 10Hz-20kHZ =/-0.3dB.

Crystal Semiconductor microprocessors make the RSX-1065 compatible with all 5.1-channel surround sound formats - Dolby Digital, dts, and Dolby Pro Logic II. The 1065 accepts two component video sources. Outputs include a secondary preamp out for multi-zone or multi-room systems, as well as a component video monitor output. The user can customize input IDs so that the display tells exactly what is playing.

Other sophisticated features include 12-volt trigger outputs to control remote devices such as projector lifts, light dimmers, and automated window shades. Advanced users will appreciate an RS-232 port that allows firmware upgrades and computer control. Sturdy shelving or cabinetry is recommended for the 1065---it weighs 45 lbs.
