Pyle’s Bluetooth Boombox Packs 1,000 Watts

Pyle USA, the company once known for its booming car subwoofers, is putting the boom in boombox with a 1,000-watt portable Bluetooth speaker system designed for partygoers.

Described as a “full-range stereo speaker system packing a massive 1,000 watts of power for a high output music listening experience,” the Street Blaster X ($284) is specifically designed to produce “maximum bass” and battery-powered with a rated playtime of 5.5 hours when fully charged.

The distinctive turbine-looking speaker supports Bluetooth wireless streaming with tap-to-play Near Field Communication (NFC) technology and is equipped with an FM tuner, LED lights that pulse to the music and several connections, including a USB port for recording, a minijack input for hard-wire hookups, and a phone-jack for using the speaker as a guitar amp. USB flash drives up to 32 GB are supported.

Standard controls for volume, bass, and treble are supplemented with controls for microphone/guitar level and echo. Dimensions are 24.5 x 10 x 10 inches.
