You can add Logitech Harmony hub-based controllers to the rapidly growing list of electronics gear that incorporates voice control.

Logitech announced yesterday that all Harmony hub-based products, including the Harmony Pro universal remote control, are now compatible with Google Assistant, making it possible to change channels, turn lights on and off, and control thousands of smart home devices using voice commands via the Google Home speaker.

The capability has been integrated into the Harmony Elite ($350), Harmony Companion ($150), and Harmony Hub ($100).

Users activate voice control access, for example, by saying: “Ok Google, ask Harmony to turn on my TV” or by referring to one of the 270,000 other devices supported by the Logitech Harmony platform. Other examples include using voice commands to launch apps installed on a Roku player, going to Favorite Channels or starting Activities set up in a Harmony account, playing music on and controlling the volume of compatible speakers, and skipping forward and back among songs on a playlist.
