I-mmersive’s Live Streaming VR Camera Is a Bust

The idea behind I-mmersive’s Veye 360-degree virtual reality camera is intriguing:
Veye is the first 360° camera to offer spherical 4K recording and live streaming with no stitching or post processing. It is compatible with all devices and platforms, including Facebook and Youtube. Share your favorite moments, adventures, and creations live, with your friends or the whole world.
The ultra-portable aluminum camera is high-end in design with Sony sensors, two fish-eye lenses, built-in microphones, a web server, and an app that would allow users to connect with an audience for live-streamed events and even monetize it.

But it takes a lot more than intrigue to launch a product. Two months after the Berlin-based company launched a crowdfunding campaign on Indiegogo to raise a modest $35,000, the company has come up short. Real short, as in “$0 USD raised by 0 backers.”

The company’s website and Facebook page are still active suggesting that Veye may be resurrected in the future.
