CBS to Live Stream Super Bowl 50…with Ads

When the Denver Broncos and Carolina Panthers hit the gridiron on February 7 more people—in and out of the living room—will be able to access the big game than ever before, including younger viewers who don’t watch traditional TV.

The unprecedented connected-TV contingent will include viewers streaming Super Bowl 50—quirky ads and all—on a range of devices, including Roku, Apple TV, and Xbox One. Mobile viewers will have access to the game via the NFL Mobile app on Verizon phones and Amazon Fire is expected to carry the event, according to a report in Variety.

The inclusion of big-budget commercials in the live stream is a first as CBS looks to attract Millennials. The move was a no-brainer when more than 1.2 million unique viewers watched last Sunday’s AFC Championship game between the Broncos and the New England Patriots on phones, PCs, tablets, and media streaming devices.
