Beyond TV is SnapStream Media's app for Window's to record and pause live TV on a PC. It also does things that TiVo could only dream about, such as data compression.  Well, TiVo has one more thing to worry about with the latest beta version of Beyond TV.

Now, in addition to timeshifting video, Beyond TV does placeshifting too, using Silverlight from Microsoft. Placeshifting lets you view your recorded shows anywhere with an Internet connection. The program will check out the media and look at the current internet connection, then transcode the video in real-time to stream to that computer.

Using Microsoft's Silverlight, you can log into your online account to see the list of programs you've recorded. Click the "Placeshift" button in the options menu and Beyond TV does the rest.
