Atlantic Technology Announces Dolby Atmos Speaker Module

Atlantic Technology announced plans to introduce by the end of the year a compact Dolby Atmos-enabled speaker module that can be added to existing speakers in its line or any existing home theater setup.

Dubbed the 44-DA, the module has a 5.25-inch woofer with a concentric 1-inch silk-dome that fires from the top of the speaker enclosure at a “precisely-determined angle, to achieve the optimum effect” with vertical information contained in Dolby Atmos soundtracks. The company says particular attention has been paid to delivering "controlled acoustic scatter" to broaden the sweet spot of sound reflected off the ceiling, allowing for greater placement flexibility within the listening room.

Measuring 5.5 x 8.4 x 9.5 inches, the 44-DA is designed to sit on top of Atlantic's THX-certified 4400 LR speaker, creating an integrated, "one-piece" look, but it can be mated with any speaker or used as a stand-alone elevation speaker within a Dolby Atmos system.
