Power Cables
AC power cables, as discussed earlier, have specific standards for the amount of current that can be drawn through the cable depending on the product it is used with. A higher power amplifier will require a different (larger gauge) power cable than a lower powered amplifier of the same manufacturer. This is due to the higher amount of current that can potentially be needed by a larger power amplifier.
It is imperative that the power cable be able to ÒhandleÓ the amount of current required by the device it is used with. If unsure, always go with the larger gauge cable.
