Qobuz, the Paris-based high-resolution (hi-res) music streaming and download service that launched in the U.S. earlier this year, is now available on 10 Yamaha products via a free firmware upgrade.

The update applies to MusicCast-enabled products: RX-A and RX-V series AV receivers, the CX-A5200 AV preamp/processor, the RX-S602 slimline AV receiver, the TSR-7850 AV receiver, MusicCast BAR 400 and ATS-4080 soundbars, MusicCast 20 and MusicCast 50 wireless speakers, and the XDA-QS5400 multiroom streaming amplifier. The MusicCast VINYL 500 wireless turntable is slated to get the update in the early summer.

Owners of these products are automatically prompted to install the firmware update via Yamaha’s MusicCast app; the update enables users to stream Qobuz through a single device or on multiple MusicCast devices throughout the home. The service has been available on some Yamaha products in countries outside of the U.S. The U.S. update began rolling out in mid-May.

Qobuz offers four subscription plans, including a new Studio package that delivers FLAC 24-bit streaming up to 192 kHz for $24.99/month or 249.99/year.

The entry-level Premium package provides MP3-quality streaming at 320 kbps for $9.99/month or $99.9/year. The Hi-Fi package provides CD-quality streaming for $19.99/month or $199.99/year. The top Sublime+ package provides hi-res streaming plus discounted hi-res downloads for $299.99/year.
