Sony shows shiny new sound systems

Sony has just unveiled three new sound systems for under $600. The HT-CT150 and CT-350 are the company's newest 3.1-channel sound bars, while the HT-SF470 is a full 5.1 surround system.

The HT-CT150 and HT-CT350 are designed for use with 32- and 40-inch HDTVs, respectively. The CT150 outputs 85 watts per channel including the subwoofer, while the CT350 offers 100 watts per channel. Both soundbars support LPCM audio via HDMI input, and feature Sony's Digital Media Port so iPod users can attach their MP3 players with an optional dock.

The SF470 is a full 5.1 surround system that can output up to 1000 watts of power (157 watts per satellite and 167 watts for the subwoofer). It's 3D-capable, with 3D passthrough via HDMI with three HDMI inputs, an HDMI repeater, and an audio return channel.

The CT150 and CT350 ship in May, and will retail for $300 and $400. The SF470 ships in June, and will be available for $550.
