PowerBridge Makes DIY In-wall Power Extension Easier

In addition to launching four new in-wall power-extension kits at CEDIA, PowerBridge announced that a new AV category is now recognized in the National Electric Code 2014 – and that PowerBridge is the only in-wall power manufacturer recognized by the International Association of Electrical Inspectors.

The new PowerBridge Model ONE-CK is a single-gang in-wall power and cable kit that is designed to extend power and AV cables through the wall from a near-baseboard location (typically behind an equipment cabinet near an AC outlet) to a wall-box located behind a wall-mounted flat-panel TV. PowerBridge says the ONE-CK is the first single-gang in-wall power extension kit to include a brush pass-through section for low-voltage wiring, such as HDMI, as well as digital and analog audio cables. The kit comes with everything needed to complete the installation and is easy enough for DIYers to install. No electrician is required.

PowerBridge’s other new products include the Model TWO-CK Dual PowerConnect Kit (with two AC outlets and brush pass-through cable section), the Model TSCK Total Solution Connector Kit (with horizontally oriented Double Recessed Receptacles), and the Model SBCK SoundBar Connector Kit (featuring a horizontally oriented recessed kit that is only 2.5-inches tall and two-inches deep, making it easy to hide behind thin soundbars).

The new products are expected to be available during the fourth quarter of this year. No pricing was available.
