Polk Hitmaster: turn on, plug in, rock out

Rock Band and Guitar Hero are all about feeling like a rock star. If the plastic guitar and drums aren't enough, you can get even more weird gadgets to plug into your game system of choice and clutter your home theater room. Two years ago, Rock Band got the PDP Stage Kit, a fog machine and lighting system that synced up with Rock Band 2. Now, Polk Audio is taking the game to another level with the Hitmaster stage monitor.

The $99 Hitmaster is a stage monitor for the living room of any Rock Band player. Its 80-watt amp drives a 6.5-inch downward-firing woofer that puts additional blast into whatever song you're playing.

Even though it looks like a stage monitor, the Hitmaster is built for gaming, with an emphasis on portability and ease of hookup. It weighs only 13 pounds, and features RCA and 1/8" headphone inputs and outputs, for connecting it easily to a game system and daisy-chaining multiple monitors.

If you want to make your Rock Band setup even more insane, the Polk Hitmaster ships next month.
