Pioneer Elite VSX-72TXV A/V Receiver and Jamo A 7 Speaker System HT Labs Measures: Jamo A 7 Speaker System

HT Labs Measures: Jamo A 7 Speaker System

Satellite Sensitivity: 86 dB from 500 Hz to 2 kHz

Center Sensitivity: 85.5 dB from 500 Hz to 2 kHz

This graph shows the quasi-anechoic (employing close-miking of all woofers) frequency response of the A 775 satellites (purple trace), A 7SUB subwoofer (blue trace), and A 7CEN center channel (green trace). All passive loudspeakers were measured with grilles at a distance of 1 meter with a 2.83-volt input and scaled for display purposes.

The A 775's listening-window response (a five-point average of axial and +/–15-degree horizontal and vertical responses) measures +1.55/–3.13 decibels from 200 hertz to 10 kilohertz. The –3-dB point is at 79 Hz, and the –6dB point is at 66 Hz. Impedance reaches a minimum of 4.51 ohms at 203 Hz and a phase angle of –48.47 degrees at 4.3 kHz.

The A 7CEN's listening-window response measures +0.73/–3.37 dB from 200 Hz to 10 kHz. An average of axial and +/–15-degree horizontal responses measures +0.67/–4.49 dB from 200 Hz to 10 kHz. The –3-dB point is at 108 Hz, and the –6-dB point is at 93 Hz. Impedance reaches a minimum of 4.61 ohms at 457 Hz and a phase angle of –59.85 degrees at 146 Hz.

The A 7SUB's close-miked response, normalized to the level at 80 Hz, indicates that the lower –3-dB point is at 35 Hz and the –6-dB point is at 31 Hz. The upper –3-dB point is at 218 Hz with the cutoff-frequency control set to maximum.—MJP
