Outlaw LCR Speaker System HT Labs Measures

HT Labs Measures: Outlaw LCR Speaker System

Satellite Sensitivity: 89 dB from 500 Hz to 2 kHz
Center Sensitivity: 89.5 dB from 500 Hz to 2 kHz

This graph shows the quasi-anechoic (employing close-miking of all woofers) frequency response of the LCR satellite (purple trace), LFM-1 Compact subwoofer (blue trace), and LCR center channel (green trace). All passive loudspeakers were measured with grilles at a distance of 1 meter with a 2.83-volt input and scaled for display purposes.

The LCR satellite’s listening-window response (a five-point average of axial and +/–15-degree horizontal and vertical responses) measures +0.98/–3.23 decibels from 200 hertz to 10 kilohertz when placed vertically with the Config switch set to L/R. The –3-dB point is at 87 Hz, and the –6-dB point is at 71 Hz. Impedance reaches a minimum of 4.41 ohms at 193 Hz and a phase angle of –32.79 degrees at 111 Hz.

The LCR center’s listening-window response measures +1.28/–3.54 dB from 200 Hz to 10 kHz when placed horizontally with the Config switch set to Ctr. An average of axial and +/–15-degree horizontal responses measures +0.88/–3.25 dB from 200 Hz to 10 kHz. The –3-dB point is at 88 Hz, and the –6-dB point is at 72 Hz. Impedance reaches a minimum of 4.48 ohms at 198 Hz and a phase angle of –44.04 degrees at 1.8 kHz.

The LFM-1 Compact’s close-miked response, normalized to the level at 80 Hz, indicates that the lower –3-dB point is at 34 Hz and the –6-dB point is at 25 Hz. T–he upper –3-dB point is at 110 Hz with the Crossover switch set to Out.—MJP
