Noisy Summer

With the Brooklyn Bridge in the distance, the Raveonettes took the stage at Beekman Beer Garden this past Sunday, performing a free show to a packed house at the outdoor venue and drinking establishment located at Manhattan’s South Street Seaport.

I caught the show from the comfort of the crowd and jammed out with several hundred others as the Danish indie rock duo powered through a solid set. Accompanied by two drummers (including one who doubled on guitar), Sune Rose Wagner and Sharin Foo led the crowd through a selection of favorites from each of their three albums.

Opening the afternoon’s performance was the Virginia-based Eternal Summers. The concert was part of the Seaport Music Festival, which concludes this coming weekend with an appearance by legendary Boston band Mission of Burma.
