Netflix streaming hitting Canada this fall

Our neighbors to the north have been sadly lacking in streaming video content over Netflix. While we've been able to watch the service's thousands of movies and TV shows over our HDTVs, Blu-ray Disc players, and game consoles, Canada has gone without.

That's going to change this fall. Netflix has announced that it will finally be bringing its Watch Instantly service to the land of poutine and hockey. The details are vague, and Netflix has only narrowed down the timeline as "this Fall," but it still means Canada will be getting Netflix's streaming video library by December. The press release refers to the Canada roll-out as Netflix's "inaugural international market," which implies that the company is planning future roll-outs, possibly to the U.K. or Australia. We'll find out after the service hits Canada.
