LG Drops Prices on 4K OLED TVs

LG today announced 30- to 45-percent price reductions for its new flat EF9500 series and curved EG9600 series 4K OLED TVs and introduced a 55-inch 1080p model that will sell for $2,000 starting October 18, making it the company’s least expensive OLED model to date.

Instant $1,000 rebates on the 55-and 65-inch EF9500 and EF9600 series flat and curved screen models result in net prices of $3,000 and $5,000, respectively.

The new 55-inch 55EG9100, currently priced online at $2,300, drops to $2,000 with a $500 instant rebate that becomes available October 18.

LG also dropped the price of the 55EC9300 55-inch 1080p curved-screen model to $1,800 “while supplies last.”

LG said “significant manufacturing efficiencies” have made the price reductions possible.

I went to my wallet and it just laughed at me and it said is a very condescending voice:"You, want to buy a TV for over $500?"

I've been hoping and praying for just this kind of breakthrough.

Finally, flat screen LG OLED. Saw them in Best Buy today and with the price drop my wallet just may be able to afford one. My only concern is the new technology that has yet to show real world testing.
