Harman Wants You to Hear the Truth

Hopefully you've all been training your ears with Harman's nifty freeware "How to Listen" app, because the audio giant now launched a campaign that gets back to their core values - great sound, simply put - and brings on some highly visible (and highly international) spokespeople to spread the word.

Maroon 5 (perhaps best known these days for frontman Adam Levine's stint as a judge on NBC's The Voice), Chinese King of Pop Liu Huan, and veteran rock outfits Night Ranger and Styx have all lent their ears and opinions to Harman's new campaign, with a commecial campaign under the directorial eye of Barry Levinson set to launch soon, and more artists yet to be announced.

The impetus behind the move, as put by Harman chair Dinesh Paliwal, is pretty similar to what we've heard from a number of other manufacturers (Beats by Dre of course comes to mind) focused on the portable and personal audio electronics sectors: "At a time when access to music has never been easier – our smartphones, portable music players, cars and computers deliver songs on demand no matter where we are – it has become increasingly important to focus on the core value of what music means to so many: quality sound."

Practically, JBL will be putting their transducers where your ears are with a revised fall lineup including the OnBeat Xtreme iOS dock seen above. More details on that once we get a hands on. In the meantime, visit the revised jbl.com for more info.
