DVD REVIEW: Entourage

HBO

The transfers on the three discs here are some of the best I've seen in any TV-on-DVD set. Sharp definition, rich colors, and dead-on contrast make for a first-rate viewing experience. The Hollywood locations and sleek cars all pop with realistic textures, and the skin tones of starlets at Hugh Hefner's mansion are as natural as they are perfect. The stereo soundtrack provides clarity for the dialogue and solid bass for the rock scores. At 22 minutes, cast interviews hosted by Mark Wahlberg aren't much of an extra, but they do demonstrate that the actors aren't that far off from the boys-next-door-gone-Hollywood whom they portray. And this set of Entourage is packaged in a solid, attractive box, sturdy as a hardcover book. [NR] English, French, and Spanish, Dolby Digital stereo; full frame (1.33:1); three dual-layer discs.
