3D Glasses maker Vuzix now selling 3D DVDs

3D content is steadily marching onward, but there still aren't too many choices out there. There are several animated movies from the last few years and Avatar will be hitting DVD and Blu-ray soon enough, but that's not a whole lot of 3D. Fortunately, 3D glasses maker Vuzix has decided to jump into the ring by selling 14 3D DVDs. Unfortunately, they don't seem very good.

If you're a fan of 3D camp, zix's online store is a gold mine. Highlights include Jaws 3-D, Encounter in the Third Dimension (featuring Cassandra "Elvira, Mistress of the Dark" Peterson), and The Adventures of Shark Boy and Lava Girl in 3D. They also offer a few 3D movie ride compilation DVDs, and three nature/wildlife discs.

The DVDs all feature "Side-by-Side" 3D, and are compatible with both Vuzix's line of Wrap 3D glasses and the company's iWear VR920 glasses. Since they're video glasses, you don't even need to get a 3D-compatible HDTV. You can just pop the glasses on. The Vuzix 3D glasses start at $170 per pair, and the DVDs cost $30 each.
