Hisense Previews Flagship 110” Mini-LED TV Ahead of CES 2024

Nothing like getting a jump on things. Hisense today offered a sneak peek at the flagship ULED X mini-LED TV it plans to formally unveil in January at CES 2024.

The forthcoming 110UX 4K TV is built around the company’s proprietary ULED X technology and boasts a 110-inch (diagonal) screen with 40,000 zones of high-output mini-LED backlighting to produce a rated brightness of 10,000 nits. The culmination of more than a decade of research and development, ULED X represents Hisense’s best picture quality and uses active intelligent backlight control to minimize backlight leakage, while “measurably elevating” contrast and enhancing dynamic range.

The TV also incorporates the newly developed X-Chipset, which uses artificial intelligence (AI) to recognize individual scenes and make on-the-fly adjustments to improve image clarity, depth, and contrast.

In addition to the impressive brightness specs and improved contrast, the 110UX is said to cover 95% of the BT.2020 color space, an achievement Hisense attributes to the use of new panel materials and “more advanced quantum dot technology.”

The TV screen is said to accommodate wide viewing angles and relies on an anti-glare film with a 1.28% reflectance rate and “meticulously designed internal panel structure” to reduce ambient light reflection and wash-out, while minimizing halos and shifts in color.

It will be interesting to see how the 110UX compares with Hisense’s current ULED U8 mini-LED model, which was the lowest scoring of six 4K models in the high-dynamic range category at last month’s 2023 Annual TV Shootout, an event hosted by the New York retailer Value Electronics.
