Have You Heard Dolby Atmos Yet?

It's been about 10 months since Dolby announced a home version of its next generation Atmos surround-sound format and a good number of products have since found their way to market. Have you heard an Atmos demo or, even better, upgraded your home theater setup to Atmos?

Would consider an upgrade to Altmos if speakers are developed that would be compatible to existing 7.1 or higher receivers.

I voted "Yes, I’ve heard Atmos in action and was not all that impressed." Even so I'd still like to try it since the demo room was far from ideal. This summer I'll call around to check the Seattle HT shops and see what's available for a demo.

I just saw Furious 7 in an Atmos theater and was not particularly impressed. I could not hear much overhead. I also don't know why Dolby limited the low end frequency response of overhead/ceiling channels to 180hz. They did a similar thing for surround channels with Pro-Logic back in the day, then went full range with Dolby Digital. I enjoy the IMAX sound much better so far despite high peak db. I do appreciate what Atmos can do but not impressed with implementation thus far. waiting for DTS X.

What in the world is this World coming to ??? Everyone is SO negative. ...It's the same 3D Sucks-crowd again dissing ANYTHING GOOD NEW AND ADVANCING.
Atmos Kicks ASS. ....I can't even go back to listening to everything on a flat-plane acting like it's surround. Atmos is a whole new sense of space and effects. It is Amazing, even with old movies.!....just like 3D is another sense...a Great Advancement in IMMERSION. .... it is all steps into an exciting new future for us pure audio lovers.
...but again.... naaa... everything just SUCKS
