We all know that traditional radio and CDs are in decline. Even digital downloads are waning in popularity, giving way to music streaming options from an ever-growing roster of online services. All of which makes us wonder if on-demand music streaming is the Next Big Thing in music listening.

I use Pandora when I want to find new music. If it weren't for Pandora and Youtube I probably would never have found most of my favorite bands. When I come across a song I like on Pandora, I'll usually look the band up on Youtube to see if I like any more of their songs, then I'll buy their CDs if I like what I hear. I'm always amused when artists and record companies complain about music streaming services and people uploading music to Youtube, because I'd buy way fewer CDs without them.

I buy most of my music on CD from Amazon (Amazon's new auto-rip service is pretty great for giving me the instant gratification of MP3 downloads with the quality and archival benefits of CD), and I've uploaded my music library to Google Play Music for streaming to my phone.

I listen to Pandora the most because I can get it in my car as well as my home media player. Spotify is a very close second because they play those deep album cuts and the sound quality is pretty nice for a streaming service.

MOG is the best hifi solution service with a pretty decent classical and jazz collection at this point. Jango has great genre stations, but Pandora is better at putting together lots of music you like with a mix of live performances and remakes you haven't heard.

Paying for the mobile services on both MOG and Spotify but can't seem to decide which sounds better. From what I've read, MOG offers 320kbps mp3 and Spotify 320kbps Ogg which is supposed to be more efficient. Of course, I had to enable the high quality which Spotify laughingly calls "Extreme" - give me a break.

Anyone else have thoughts on the fidelity? Nothing like lossless but in the car, 320k is ample for me.

Youtube always. These all apps suck and they need money only. speech pathologist
